Police In Pearl, Mississippi, Find $2.5 Million In Heroin During Traffic Stop

Police in Pearl, Mississippi, say they found about $2.5 million in heroin during a traffic stop this week. Three people, all from Houston, Texas, were arrested.

Police in Pearl, Mississippi, say they found about $2.5 million in heroin during a traffic stop this week. Three people, all from Houston, Texas, were arrested.

It happened about 3:05 a.m. July 24th on I-20 in Pearl. An officer stopped a 2014 GMC Sierra for a traffic violation. Investigators say the officer noticed suspicious behavior, and after a search was granted, he found nearly 27 pounds of heroin under the hood of the vehicle.

Crystal Cedillo, 24, Vaness Manrique, 34, and Eduardo Nunez-Torres, 21 are now charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute. The estimated street value of the heroin is about $2.5 million to $3 million.
