Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today that its newest shop, a franchise location in Olive Branch, Mississippi, will open to the public on Monday, Feb. 19. The shop features a convenient drive-thru and is located at 5400 Goodman Road, between Pyro’s Pizza and Methodist Minor Medical Center. The widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout features toasty warm sandwiches, hand-dipped milkshakes and live music, all making it “The Best Place for Lunch.”
Potbelly shops have earned a reputation in neighborhoods across the United States for having delicious food, fun décor and fresh tunes. Fabian Nelson, the new sandwich shop’s owner, brings extensive senior management experience to running his shop. Nelson plans to give back to the local neighborhood with an oven-warming event on Feb. 18.
“I’ve always loved Potbelly’s neighborhood atmosphere, and I’m ready to introduce our toasty sandwiches to a whole new group of fans in the Memphis area,” said Nelson. “Potbelly fits the funky Mid-South vibe, and I hope my neighbors stop by soon to try our great food, listen to live music from local Musicians, check out our local decor, and shake the hand of the grateful owner.”
Along with working in the shop daily with his wife and kids, Nelson also has a local general manager who will be in charge of day-to-day operations, including hiring new staff and booking local musicians who perform regularly at the shop. Hours of operation will be Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Nelson will also be opening three shops in Memphis, Shelby County and the surrounding areas over the next three years. He plans to make his Potbelly shops reflective of the “Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll” with plenty of local style and live music from Memphis musicians.
