Saturday was the Ronald McDonald House Charities’ Red Shoe Gala.
Anchor Katina Rankin served as the emcee of the event, and it’s all to help St. Jude families.
“We are so excited. This is the house that Memphis built and to have the support of all these Memphis and Mid-Southerners here to help us, you know, support these families is just so moving,” said Jessica Corley, the director of development at the Ronald McDonald House.
“And we’re excited for a beautiful and fun and exciting night. Just to make our mission better so we can continue to keep our doors open and continue to serve families.”
Organizers are raising money for the facility.
The House is a “home away from home” for St. Jude families and their children receiving treatment for cancer and other catastrophic illnesses.
Families that stay at the Ronald McDonald House are given warm beds, warm meals and warm hugs from other families fighting the same battle.
Since opening in 1991, the Ronald McDonald house has housed more than 8300 children from nearly every state and 45 countries.
