MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A one-vehicle crash involving a MATA bus occurred at the intersection of S. Highland St. and Spottswood Ave. on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.
Memphis Police Department (MPD) said officers responded to a call about a crash at around 3 p.m.
According to MPD, the bus was hit by a level crossing barrier arm while crossing a train track.
Five passengers on the bus were taken to to area hospitals in non-critical condition. The driver was not injured
An MPD investigation into this incident is currently underway.
