MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police said two adults and two students were taken to hospitals after a school bus crashed into an apartment Wednesday morning in Grahamwood.
MPD said officers responded about 6:40 a.m. Aug. 21, 2024, after a school bus crashed into an apartment complex in the area of Macon Rd. and Homer St.
Officials with Memphis-Shelby County Schools said the driver experienced a medical emergency then lost control of the bus and collided with the building. Memphis Police said two female students were inside the bus during the incident.
MPD said two adults and the two students were taken to area hospitals in non-critical condition. MPD said one woman who was not on the bus was taken to a hospital for medical issues.
"The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and we are working closely with medical authorities and law enforcement," MSCS officials said in their statement.
