Shelby County D.A.'s Office said employee personal information “inadvertently” released in email

“While it appears the email was only distributed internally, we’re taking additional steps to ensure that’s the case,” said a statement from the D.A.’s office.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office said it is working to minimize the impact after some current and former employees’ personal information was “inadvertently” sent out in an email.

A spokesperson with D.A. Steve Mulroy’s office said a member of its staff “inadvertently” sent out the information in an attachment to an email.

“While it appears the email was only distributed internally, we’re taking additional steps to ensure that’s the case,” said a statement from the D.A.’s office.

They said the IT department worked quickly to recall the email, identify who opened it, and retrieve it from inboxes.

They said current employees affected have been notified, and they are reaching out to former employees.
