Here’s where Shelby County Juvenile Court will conduct business while work continues on building

The court was closed down temporarily on April 24, after news of asbestos, mold and lead in the building.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Shelby County Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office has released information on where business will be conducted while work continues on the main building at 616 Adams Ave.

The court was closed down temporarily on April 24, after news of asbestos, mold and lead in the building. There is no current timeline on when the building will reopen.

Here’s where work will be conducted in the meantime:

  • Beginning Monday, May 13, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., child support, purge payments, bond payments, garnishments, restitution, and all other secure payments through the Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office can be done at 201 Poplar Ave. on the 3rd Floor.
  • Court filings can be processed at two locations:
  • Victims’ compensation can be requested at 1075 Mullins Station Road. Only credit or debit cards will be accepted at the that office, and be aware it has a clear bag policy.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., Juvenile Court hearings will begin at the following locations:

  • Non-Custodial Parent’s Office and child support contempt hearings will be held at 201 Poplar Ave. on the 4th Floor.
  • Delinquency out-of-custody hearings will be held at 140 Adams Ave. on the 3rd Floor.
  • All in-custody Juvenile Court hearings will be held at the Youth Justice & Education Center at 3420 Old Getwell Road.

The Shelby County Juvenile Court’s Protective Services Department and Traffic Department will be located at 1075 Mullins Station Road, Building W2.
