MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The first Saturday in November is recognized as "National Bison Day," a time when the public is encouraged to celebrate the American buffalo.
While the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy embraces the spirit of "National Bison Day" year-round, the park invites the community to join in honoring bison through donations.
Although they roam freely within their expansive range, the team at Shelby Farms Park works hard to ensure their health and safety. This includes maintaining their habitat and providing supplemental feed during the winter months.
To continue this work, the Conservancy is actively asking for contributions. A donation of just $15 can help feed a bison for an entire week.
Public support allows the team to provide food and care for the herd and maintain their range.
