MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)- Saturday was about “Finding Cures. Saving Children” as many participated in the St. Jude Marathon in Downtown Memphis.
Runners laced up their running shoes for the 18th annual fundraising event with 26,000 people racing from all over including 17 different countries.
More than 7,000 heroes joined into help St. Jude with their overall goal and mission to raise more than $12,000,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“We’ve hit that $12,000,000 dollar mark, but it’s not to late,” said Emily Callahan, Chief Marketing & Experience Officer for ALSAC. “We want to take that even higher and set a new record. So, I would ask everyone out here to today think about giving just a little bit more.”
That money will help the hospital continue to provide treatment for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses for free.
