The Tate County Sheriff's Office was looking for a 60-year-old man they say assaulted a police officer, but on Sunday the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said that this man turned himself in.
Kenneth Ray Graham was believed by authorities to be armed and dangerous.
Sheriff Luke Shepherd released a statement, saying that he was "thankful for the deputy’s hard work, diligence and perseverance during this ordeal while enduring less than ideal weather conditions."
"It is never a good day to receive a call about shots fired at law enforcement, but I am thankful no one was injured," Shepherd said. "We are grateful for DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Senatobia Police Department and all of our local volunteer firemen for their response and backup to our deputies. Ultimately, everything was resolved peacefully, and that is always the goal."
On Saturday, the Sheriff's Office said he was seen on Highway 305 near Independence High School in Coldwater, Mississippi.
Graham reportedly was wearing blue jeans, a striped button down shirt that is light blue as well as white and cowboy boots.
