MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tennessee ranks eighth in the country for overdose deaths, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
The most recent state data shows that more than 3,800 people in Tennessee died from a drug overdose last year - 75 percent of them had fentanyl in their system.
Despite this, overdose deaths are showing declines since their peak during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are 17 help centers in Memphis that offer different resources for those seeking treatment, including help for those without funds or insurance.
