Governor Lee announced that The Day Foundation donated $9-million over the next three years to continue investing in the futures of those aging out of the system.
Tennessee became the first state in the country to guide every child into adulthood though Youth Villages’ LifeSet program. It helps at-risk youth and young adults leaving the foster care, juvenile justice, and mental health systems.
“Every kid deserves to have a hopeful future and Iwant to be a part of that, I want to be a part of creating an environment wherewe can work together to provide hope for every single Tennessee kid,” said Lee.
Youth Villages has helped more than 10,000 young people across the state and serves as an example for other branches across the country.
