MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were arrested following a police chase on Wednesday, Oct. 2, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

MPD officers responded to a business robbery at Star Shell, located at 2238 Appling Road, just after 2:20 p.m.

The suspect allegedly entered the store, fired a shot into the ceiling, and then pointed his gun at the clerk, demanding money. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled the scene with a bag of cash, getting into a gold Mitsubishi Mirage driven by a woman.

MPD searched the area and found the car. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspects fled, leading to a pursuit into Bartlett.

Both suspects ran but were eventually taken into custody with the help of The Bartlett Police Department.

No injuries were reported, MPD stated.

Daibrieell Mackie, 30, faces charges of aggravated robbery, intentionally evading arrest in a vehicle with risk of injury to a third party, and evading arrest on foot.
