Two charged in connection to 2022 McDonald's shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department (MPD) announced on Sept. 4, 2024, that two suspects of a McDonald's shooting in May 2022 are in custody.

Officers responded to a shooting at 1683 East Shelby Drive on May 28, 2022, just before 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they located the victim inside a car. He had been shot several times and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. 

The victim later died from his injuries.

The Homicide Bureau and the Multi-Agency Gang Unit investigated the case together.

Investigators said they determined that Young Mob members Mohamed Samba and Quentin Moss were responsible. 

On August 29, 2024 indictments were returned in this case, according to MPD officials.

Mohamed Samba, 26, was charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder. 

Quentin Moss, 32, was charged with First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder. 

Both are in custody and additional charges are expected, says MPD.
