(UPDATE): Memphis Police have confirmed the second victim in Friday night’s shooting near Kingsbury High School has died.

Witnesses say she and a fellow student were walking home with friends near the corner of Macon and Maria around 5:30pm Friday when the shooting started.

The 18-year-old man she was with died on the scene.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

There are surveillance cameras in the area, but it is unclear if they show what happened.

A Mid-South high school is mourning after reports that two of its student were shot.

Friday was homecoming and students held a pep rally for Kingsbury High, it’s in the Berclair neighborhood of Memphis.

Students are learning a fellow classmate was shot and killed.

All we know is that a young man died, and a teenage girl was rushed to Region One after being shot while walking home with friends near a gas station convenience store.

The call to 911 came in around 5:30 PM.

One of them a boy died at the scene.

It all happened near Maria Street and Macon Road.

Witnesses say the two victims were walking home when they were shot.

Right now, there is no suspect description.

As you can imagine, this double shooting is hitting the Kingsbury High School community very hard.

Posts on social media are offering the condolences.

One post even said athletes in the locker room were being talked to by coaches.

The first shooting victim, a teenage girl remains in critical condition.

Investigators have not released the identity of the teenage boy who died.

Now there are surveillance cameras in the area, but it’s unclear if they show what happened.
