MEMPHIS, Tenn., (localmemphis.com) – Walmart employees are sharing #prayerstostore0848 on social media in solidarity with the family and friends who are morning the victims at the Southaven Walmart store.
Store 0848 is the Southaven location where two employees were shot to death Tuesday morning.
Friday, Walmart stores asked their employees to wear black to show respect for Brandon Gales and Anthony Brown who lost their lives to a shooter earlier in the week.
A few Mid-South Walmart stores had tables with flowers, candles, and a framed picture that read “Prayers for #848, Region 12 Strong.” The tables were positioned at the front of the stores.
Along with the trending hashtag, Walmart employees changed their profile pictures to the Walmart logo with a black ribbon next to it. Other hashtags included “Walmart Strong” and “Walmart Family.”
Local 24 News spoke with a Walmart employee who said a tragedy like this can happen at any store, but the support from across the country has made the employees feel like a family.
