Memphis Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian on I-240 at Walnut Grove over the weekend.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) said that officers responded to 240 eastbound at Walnut Grove about 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023.
Investigators said a blue 2014 Nissan Sentra was involved in a crash, and the passenger, a 20-year-old man, got out of the car and was hit by another vehicle, possibly a gray Infiniti, headed northbound on I-240 East.
The man died at the scene. Police originally said a a woman was also taken to Baptist in non-critical condition.
Officers originally reported one person in custody, but Monday reported that no one has been arrested.
Investigators said the vehicle involved should have front-end, hood, and windshield damage.
