MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)-Family and friends gathered to say their farewells at the funeral service for Bloomfield Baptist Church Pastor Ralph White on Saturday.
Pastor White was the Founder of the GOD SO LOVED Prayer and Outreach Ministry. He was involved in a number of community organizations and civic groups including Citizens for Community Values of Memphis, Convoy of Hope, Baptist Ministerial Association, Religious Alliance Against Pornography (RAAP), Shelby County Domestic Violence Task Force, and Promise Keepers International. Pastor White attended the University of Arkansas and Mid-South Bible College.
He also received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Detroit Bible College.
White was the founder of the annual Martin Luther King Park Fishing Rodeo, an event free to children of all ages.
White is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet, three children and seven grandchildren.
