What's closed in Memphis on Veterans Day?

Here is a complete list of local places that will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Veterans Day is on Monday, Nov.11, and while most restaurants, grocery and retail stores will be open, several offices and services will be closed in observance of the holiday. 

Here is a list of places in Memphis that will be closed on Veterans Day:

City of Memphis Offices 

All City of Memphis government offices will be closed on Monday.

If your regular trash pickup day is Monday, your garbage will be collected on Tuesday instead. All other days will not be affected. If Team Waste provides your service, trash will be collected on Veterans Day as usual.

Shelby County Health Department

The Shelby County Health Department will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day. 

Memphis Public Libraries

All Memphis Public Libraries will be closed on Veterans Day.

MLGW

MLGW’s business offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day. Customers can still access services online via MLGW's My Account portal to check balances, make payment arrangements, and view outage updates.

Post Offices

All Post Offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day. There will be no mail delivery, and Post Office Box and caller services will be unavailable. 

Banks

Branches of major banks, including Bank of America, Truist, and Wells Fargo, will be closed on Veterans Day.
