MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com)  Memphis Police are investigating another shooting along a Memphis interstate. This time a woman was shot on the northbound loop of Interstate-40 between the Highland overpass and Warford exit.

Traffic was shut down in the Eastbound lanes for an hour and a half. Later, one lane reopened while police investigated.

It’s just crazy. You can’t do anything, you can’t go anywhere, you can’t even drive down the street anymore, said resident Solomon Prayer.

Prayer saw the police cars, discovered the interstate had been shut down, and stopped to find out what was going on.

It’s almost like becoming the norm now. You hear about it, but to actually see it is different, said Prayer.

According to police, the woman was shot while driving eastbound on the interstate. She was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

Since the beginning of the year, there have been interstate shootings about twice a month now. That’s too much road rage says prayer.

It’s traffic, so you are going to get cut off at some point or whatever. There’s plenty of other ways to handle the situation than to shoot someone, said Prayer.

Police say the suspects were possibly driving a white Dodge. The cause of the shooting has not been released.

Anyone with information, or who may have seen anything, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
