MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – Memphis director Craig Brewer’s Eddie Murphy movie “DolemiteIs My Name” will have a world premiere during the Toronto InternationalFilm Festival this fall.
The comedic biopic stars murphy as Rudy Ray Moore, who achievedcult fame in the 1970s as the pimp hero “Dolemite” in a series of low-budgetaction films. The movie will air on Netflix.
Brewer posted on his Instagram a picture from the film, which alsostars Wesley Snipes, comedian Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, and Tituss Burgess fromNetflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”
The caption for the photo says it is a dream come true to beinvited to the festival.
Brewer is also expected to work with Eddie Murphy again on “Coming2 America,” the sequel to the original 1988 hit.
