MEMPHIS, Tenn — A Mississippi Church of God in Christ leader has passed away after being exposed to the coronavirus.
According to a Facebook post, church officials say Bishop Timothy Scott had been in the hospital while his wife was under self-quarantine at home.
Scott served nearly 50 years in the Church of God in Christ organization.
The family will hold a private memorial service. A date will be set for a jurisdictional memorial service when social distancing guidelines are lifted.
