Collierville Mayor Stan Joyner will not seek re-election

MEMPHIS, Tenn — Long-time Collierville Mayor Stan Joyner will not seek re-election in November, according to the Town of Collierville’s Public Information Officer.

Collierville’s PIO told ABC24 Tuesday, June 18, 2024, that Joyner, who is currently in his fourth term as mayor, would not seek office in this next election. She said Joyner has served the community for 37 years and is ready to relax and travel with his wife. 

Joyner was first elected to the Collierville Board of Aldermen in 1999, serving there before his election to mayor in 2008.

A Collierville native, Joyner was named “Person of the Year” by the Collierville Chamber of Commerce in 2016. That same year, he was also presented with the “Bobby Donavant Public Servant Award” by the Rotary Club of East Memphis. Joyner has also been honored by local PTAs, including with a National PTA Life Achievement Award.

The General Election is set for Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
