MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Early voting is underway in Shelby County for the 2024 General and Municipal Elections, including the race for President.
The Shelby County Election Commission said as of Tuesday, Oct. 29, 214,366 people have cast their ballots across the area.
- 23,040 hit the polls on the first day of early voting on Oct. 16.
- 18,259 cast ballots on Oct. 17.
- 17,708 voted on Oct. 18.
- 13,168 voted on Oct. 19.
- 19,593 voted on Oct. 21.
- 19,425 voted on Oct. 22.
- 17,950 voted on Oct. 23.
- 16,601 voted on Oct. 24.
- 16,672 voted on Oct. 25.
- 12,709 voted on Oct. 26.
- 19,473 voted on Oct. 28.
- 19,768 voted on Oct. 29.
The numbers are down compared to the 2020 presidential election, when 288,780 people cast their ballots during the 12 days of early voting - but it's higher than the elections in 2008, 2012, and 2016 for the same time frame. During the 2020 election, 326,035 people cast their ballots in total during all of early voting.
Early Voting runs through Halloween, Oct. 31. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024.
