MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Early voting has ended and and now all that remains is election day - August 1 - for the state and federal primaries and local general elections.
Voters can find all the information they need at the Shelby County Election Commission.
Primary elections will be held for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Tennessee Senate (even-numbered districts), and Tennessee House of Representatives. General elections will be held for vacant state judicial offices, Shelby County General Court Clerk and several Memphis-Shelby County Schools board positions, Arlington Mayor, aldermen, and school board positions, and Bartlett and Germantown judges.
Polls in Shelby County are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Important information:
The state and federal General Election, which includes the presidential election, is set for Nov. 5. Early voting for that election will run Oct. 16 through 31.
"By providing our community with voting convenience, we are expanding the opportunity for more voters to exercise their right to vote,” said Linda Phillips, Shelby County Election administrator. “We request everyone’s support in spreading voting-related information and updates so those selected represent the community’s voice.”
