MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Election Day has finally arrived in the United States, and Shelby County voters are heading to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5, to choose who will represent them and lead the country.
In Tennessee, polling places open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. It's important to make sure you are in line by 7 p.m. to cast your vote. Voters are required to vote at their assigned polling places.

You can bring the following acceptable IDs to the polls:
- A Tennessee State issued driver license with your photo
- United States Passport
- Photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security
- Photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government
- United States Military photo ID
- Tennessee handgun carry permit with your photo
