MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The St. Francis County Sheriff’s Office said a third suspect has been arrested in connection with the case involving a woman’s body found in a plastic tote by an Arkansas highway in February.
Willie Calvin Smith of Forrest City, Arkansas, is charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of a firearm by a certain person. His bond was set at $150,000.
Previously, Micah Lacy from Forrest City was charged with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and possession of a firearm by a certain person. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
Corey Jerome Anderson of Madison, Arkansas, was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse, according to the sheriff’s office. His bond was set at $50,000.
The sheriff's office said a couple of boys called deputies on Tuesday, Feb. 20, after finding a woman's body inside a gray plastic tote on County Road 731 just off Highway 334 while they were riding four wheelers in the area.
The woman was identified as 42-year-old Troy Alexandra Strope from Forrest City, Arkansas.
