“No, you cannot come help ‘clean up’” | Oxford Police detour traffic after truck spills cases of beer into road

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Oxford, Mississippi, Police said they don’t need help cleaning up after an 18-wheeler lost part of its load, spilling cases of beer into the road.

Oxford Police posted the pictures to Facebook Wednesday morning, Aug. 21, 2024. They said officers had to close off Jefferson Ave. between North Lamar and North 9th Street after a truck spilled cases of beer into the road.

After asking drivers to use another route, OPD said they didn’t need anyone’s help. “No, you cannot come help ‘clean up,’” said the post.

Jefferson Ave between North Lamar and North 9th Street is closed due to an 18 wheeler losing part of its load. Please use another route. And no, you cannot come help “clean up.”
