MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said three boys have been charged after calling in threats at Mississippi schools.

The sheriff’s office said the three juvenile suspects are charged in the youth court with making terroristic threats.

Investigators said they first responded Wednesday, May 1, 2024, about a bomb threat called into the office at Lafayette High School. Once the area was determined to be safe, investigators said they traced the phone call to a juvenile suspect.

They said the boy was found and taken to the sheriff’s office while his parents were contacted.

During the investigation, deputies determined two other boys were also responsible for the school threat, and that they had made several other calls to Oxford-area schools.
