NASHVILLE, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) – TDOT’s HELP program is celebrating 20 years of service.
The HELP Program consists of those workers who assist ineverything from changing tires to major accidents and car fires. The servicestarted in Memphis and Chattanooga and has grown to help millions of peoplestatewide.
The main goal is to help clear the highways as quick as possible. TDOTsays each minute a lane is blocked can lead to delays, frustration, andpotentially more crashes.
Friday’s celebration in Nashville included a convoy ofHELP trucks and emergency agencies, followed by a special ceremony for thefirst help crew in 1999.
