Opinion | There's more good news for Blue Oval City | Richard Ransom

ABC24 Anchor Richard Ransom shares in his Ransom Note some good news for Ford's Blue Oval City in West Tennessee.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In Wednesday's Ransom Note, there's more good news for Blue Oval City.

That's the name Ford Motors is giving its new mega manufacturing plant that will soon transform Haywood County and West Tennessee with the promise of almost 30,000 direct and indirect jobs by 2025.

Ford is all-in with its F-150 electric vehicle, "Lightning". The company announced it's doubling production capacity for the vehicle thanks to huge demand. By the way, this is the second time the company has raised the production target for its pickup truck.

The news is huge for us because it foreshadows the demand for the company's already hugely popular truck, but it also shows how Ford is leading the way when it comes to EV's, or electronic vehicles.

Construction on the $5.6 billion plant is expected to begin before the end of the year, which means we'll be telling you about some awesome job opportunities very soon.
