MEMPHIS, Tennessee — In Thursday's Ransom Note: have you heard about the uproar surrounding L.O.L. Surprise! dolls?
A viral video was seen by 26 million people just this week, so many of you probably have. There's more than one video out there, each showing how when the dolls are dipped in cold water, they display what many consider inappropriate clothing, undergarments, and lingerie. There's no warning on the packaging that's what will happen. Although there is a warning that the boy dolls are anatomically correct, which is causing even more controversy.
The CEO of MGA Entertainment which makes the dolls told the New York Post it's not changing anything. He said, "after all, human beings are naturally and anatomically correct. Do we want to fight nature and give false impressions to kids from an early age? Parents can decide this and buy or don't buy it."
Frankly, he's right about parents. It is up to them, but parents have enough to worry about these days, and children's dolls are one thing they shouldn't have to worry about.
