MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Every once and a while, Memphis makes national news for good reasons and when it comes to our music talent, the Bluff City continues to show it can lift more than its own weight.
The Grammy nominations came out Tuesday and Mid-Southerners accounted for several nominees.
Rapper GloRilla and producer Hitkidd are nominated for Best Rap Performance for their hit song "F.N.F. (Let's Go)". It's their first nomination.
The North Mississippi All Stars 'Set Sail' project is nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Hip-hop artist and native Memphian Marco Pave was also nominated for his contributions to "Requiem for the Enslaved" in the Best Contemporary Classical Composition category.
Of course, The Recording Academy sponsors the Grammys. Memphis has the academy's smallest chapter in the U.S. and will be well-represented at the ceremony next February in Los Angeles.
