TENNESSEE, USA — Tennessee football has moved up four spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll, going from No. 11 to No. 7 on Sunday afternoon. The new position places the Vols back into the Top 10 and comes following a win against Alabama Saturday afternoon, with a final game score of 24-17.

The Vols trailed 7-0 at halftime despite multiple miscues, but Tennessee rallied in a 24-17 effort to beat Alabama in back-to-back home games. With less than two minutes left in regulation, Tennessee kicked a field goal, bringing the lead to 24-17 before intercepting the ball from Alabama to secure the win.

This win against Alabama is Tennessee's second in two years. The Vols beat them in 2022 for the first time in 16 years back in 2006, with a final score of 52-49.

Six teams now sit in front of UT in the rankings. Oregon, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas and the University of Miami take the lead in that order, with Alabama dropping to No. 15 and Oregon taking the number one spot over Texas.

Tennessee is on a bye week and will return to the field in November. On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Vols will battle Kentucky at home for their eighth game of the season. The game will take place in Neyland Stadium and will be televised by the SEC Network. Game time has not been announced yet.
