MEMPHIS, Tenn — With lots of schools on fall break, week 8 of the high school football season here in the Mid-South was slightly lighter than usual but there were still some classic games including ABC24's Game of the Week between Lakeland and Memphis East.
The Mustangs cruised to a 27-0 lead at halftime but the Lions pounced on every opportunity in the second half to trail by one score in the final minute. Memphis East held on to win 40-34.
