TULSA, Okla. — During his tenure Phillip Goodrum was often the hero for Memphis 901 FC, but on Saturday night he was the villain when he scored for his new club in FC Tulsa and therefore handed Memphis a brutal 1-0 loss.

Goodrum's goal came in the 41st minute off a fancy back heel finish on a counter attack. The goal broke the deadlock and would end up being the only goal scored all night.

Memphis struggled in the attacking third for most of the night with their only shot on goal out of eight attempts, coming in the 59th minute. Meanwhile Tulsa had a total of nine shots with five on target.

The Beale Street Boys tried to rally late in the game to find the equalizer but had ultimately dug themselves into a hole with costly mistakes seeing two 901 FC players sent from the field.

Marlon drew a red for impeding Tulsa's keeper in the 88th minute and Abdoulaye Cissoko was also shown red in the 95th minute after taking a Tulsa player off the ball in the final third.

With the loss Memphis move to 8-8-4 and stay at No. 4 in the Western Conference Standings.

The game ends a three-match road stretch for the Beale Street Boys. They now get set to return home to AutoZone Park for two-straight games starting with San Antonio FC on Saturday, July 27, followed by El Paso Locomotive FC on Aug. 3.
