So goes the ninth week of Friday night football in Tennessee.
Here are highlights from across the Memphis area and a scoreboard of select games to boot:
Game of the week: Christian Brothers vs. MUS
1894 was the first year that MUS and Christian Brothers lined up against each other. In their 2023 face-off, MUS got busy as Brady Hughes rolled right looking from Brandon Nicholson and then found him.
Tee Perry — a human freight train — gave them six. MUS was up 7-0 after a touchdown. Christian Brothers was looking to make something happen but didn't find much. William Kreitz ran for his life, lost the ball and fell on it. Hudson Shoaf did damage for MUS. CBHS then punted.
Hughes was feeling it. He let one fly and Max Williams was wide open. Owls were up by two scores. Christian Brothers responded with a good drive until Kreitz took off.
Max Williams intercepted and he was thinking six points. There was a 75-yard pick six and MUS walked away with a 21-7 "W." This would be their third straight win over Christian Brothers. The Owls are now 7-1.
