Grizzlies' Luke Kennard, stars compete in Danny Thomas Celebrity-Am

For the fifth straight year, celebrities flocked to Spring Creek Ranch to play golf in support of St. Jude as part of the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The FedEx St. Jude Championship has officially kicked off, but the pros aren't the only ones on the course.

On Thursday, big name entertainment stars hit the links for something much bigger than themselves - the fifth annual Danny Thomas Celebrity-Am in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

"I always love coming back to the hospital and reminding yourself of why we come and that's to save these kids, that's why we're here," former Desperate Housewives actor Kevin Rahm said.

The field included several actors from both the big and small screen like Joey Graziadei and Kelsey Anderson from The Bachelor.

Some familiar sports figures also showed out in the Bluff City like 8x NBA All-Star and Hall of Famer Vince Carter, Memphis Tigers men's basketball head coach Penny Hardaway and Memphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard.

"St. Jude has done incredible things, not only in this city but in the entire world," Kennard said. "Now that I'm starting my own family it just hits a bit different so it's a great opportunity just to be involved in such a small part of what they do."

Rahm's group finished first at 55, Olympic gold medalist Victoria Arlen's group finished second and Hardaway's group came in third.

The tournament continues Friday and will go until Sunday Aug. 18.
