MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis 901 FC were given a taste of their own medicine on Saturday, falling 4-1 to Orange County SC after putting on a blinder to beat Phoenix Rising FC 5-1 the week prior.

That win saw them unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 games entering Saturday's match but they never looked like beating the OC. The loss goes down as Memphis' worst result of the season.

Orange County had all of the possession to start and capitalized scoring in the 5th minute off Bryce Jamison. Orange County would score another two goals in the first half, one of them coming off a PK, to take a 3-0 lead into the sheds.

The second half was much more evenly matched but Orange County extended their lead in the 79th to 4-0.

Memphis' Dylan Borczak ensured Orange County wouldn't walk away with a clean sheet, finding the back of the net in the 89th minute to make it 4-1.

But that would be the only goal scored by Memphis who currently lead the Western Conference in goals scored with 30, six more than any other team in the west.

Memphis ended the night with 60% of possession, more shots (14-10), one less shot on target (6-7) and more corners (8-3) but looking at the final score you wouldn't know it.

Memphis drop down a spot in the standings to sixth. Second to tenth are separated by nine points, only the top eight teams in the West make the playoffs.

901 FC will continue their stretch of three games on the road when they play Detroit City on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
