MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A defensive lineman who played all 10 games for the Memphis Showboats in 2024 will suit up for the NFL's New England Patriots, both teams announced Sunday.

Josiah Bronson was signed by the Patriots Sunday. Bronson recorded 12 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks for the Showboats over all 10 games in 2024.

Before his time in Memphis, Bronson spent time with four different NFL teams since being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2021.

Bronson played six games for New Orleans in 2021, before being released and acquired off waivers by Cleveland.

He played in one game for Cleveland before being released and then closed out his rookie season on the Dallas practice squad during the postseason. After being released by Dallas at the end of training camp in 2022, Bronson was signed by Miami to the practice squad.

He was elevated for one game in 2022 for the Dolphins, seeing action at New England. He was released by Miami at the end of training camp in 2023.

Bronson becomes the third player from the Showboats 2024 roster to sign with an NFL team. Wide Receiver Daewood Davis was picked up by the Carolina Panthers while Cornerback Nehemiah Shelton joined the New York Jets.
