Memphis Showboats waive quarterback Cole Kelley

Kelley started in eight games last season for the Showboats, leading them on a five-game win streak to get back in playoff contention.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Showboats waived quarterback Cole Kelley on Tuesday, according to the UFL. 

Kelley started in eight games last season for the Showboats, leading them on a five-game win streak to get back in playoff contention. 

He threw for 1,533 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2023 season. 

The move comes just a day after the Showboats set their roster to 58 players ahead of the inaugural UFL season

QB's Case Cookus and Troy Williams will now battle it out for the starting spot when the Showboats kickoff the season against the Houston Roughnecks at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 31.
