MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The University of Memphis Tigers' men's and women's basketball teams will be playing a preseason doubleheader against the University of North Carolina and University of South Carolina for the inaugural Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2024 at the FedExForum.
The preseason doubleheader will feature Memphis Tigers and NBA legend Penny Hardaway leading the Tiger's basketball program against the University of North Carolina in the first game at 6 p.m.
Memphis women’s basketball and head coach Alex Simmons will be taking on reigning NCAA National Champions, the University of South Carolina, at 8:30 p.m. to cap off the event.
“This event isn’t just about what happens on the court", said ALSAC President and CEO, Richard Shadyac Jr., "it’s about rallying teams, fans and entire communities to support the lifesaving research and treatment happening at St. Jude."
