MEMPHIS, Tenn. — On Thursday, the Memphis Grizzlies released a statement announcing the medical updates for wing Desmond Bane and guard Marcus Smart.
Bane, who sustained a Grade 3 left ankle sprain during the Jan. 12 game against the LA Clippers, was recently re-evaluated and is progressing well, according to the Grizzlies. The team said he is expected be able to play again within the next 3 to 5 weeks.
According to the Grizzlies, Smart, who injured his finger during the Jan. 9 game against the Dallas Mavericks, was recently re-evaluated, and his injury is healing properly. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks and will wear a splint in the meantime, the statement said.
