MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies announced Sunday they will be without their dynamic big man Steven Adams for the entire 2023-2024 NBA season.
The Grizzlies announced Adams will undergo season-ending knee surgery on his right posterior cruciate ligament, after rehabbing the injury he sustained in January did not go as planned.
Adam's knee sprain ultimately forced him to miss the remainder of the 2022-2023 season after constant setbacks.
The Grizzlies said Adams' knee is still unstable, but is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
Adams was the Grizzlies' top frontcourt presence, averaging 11.5 rebounds per game. He was an instrumental part on the season that saw the Grizzlies enter the playoffs as the second seed in the Western Conference, but was missed in the playoffs as the Grizzlies couldn't figure out the L.A. Lakers' frontcourt attack in their first round exit.
