MEMPHIS, Tenn — The Memphis Grizzlies are throwing it back to their days in Vancouver. Memphis will wear Classic Edition throwback white uniforms during the 2024-2025 season in honor of their 30th season in the NBA.
The Grizzlies were originally known as the Vancouver Grizzlies and were one of two Canadian franchises to join the NBA in 1995 alongside the Toronto Raptors. The team was originally purchased by John McCaw Jr and played in Vancouver for six years before being purchased by Michael Heisley and moving to Memphis in 2001.
The Grizzlies rocked the white uniforms with teal lettering, tribal accents and the iconic grizzly bear logo on the shorts from 1995 to 2000.
The new jerseys also come with a new jersey sponsor. The Grizzlies have partnered with Robinhood as the official investment partner of the team. The finance company will have a have patch on the upper left chest area of every jersey the Grizzlies wear this season. They're the first jersey sponsor for the Grizzlies since 2021.
Memphis opens the season on October 23 against the Utah Jazz in the Delta Center.
