MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Grizzlies are trading forward Ziaire Williams and a 2030 second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets.

In return, Memphis will receive Net's forward Mamadi Diakite and the draft rights to Nemanja Dangubic, the 54th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

The Grizzlies selected Williams as the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.

In Williams' three years in Memphis, he averaged 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists shooting 42.6 percent from the field, according to ESPN.  Williams started in 15 of the 51 games he appeared in during the 2023-2024 season but missed the rest of the season with a right lower back injury and a hip flexor strain.

Williams was guaranteed $6.1 million in 2024-25. The trade frees up money for the Grizzlies to stay under the luxury tax while simultaneously pursuing a re-sign of guard Luke Kennard.

Diakite has spent his career with five different teams since going undrafted in 2020. He was traded to Brooklyn from the New York Knicks on July 6.

His career-highs include 13 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.
