Memphis Grizzlies waive forward Mamadi Diakite

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies said Tuesday the team has waived forward Mamadi Diakite, who was recently acquired from the Brooklyn Nets.

In July, the Grizzlies traded Ziaire Williams to the Nets for Diakite and the draft rights to Nemanja Dangubic, the 54th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Diakite has spent his career with five different teams since going undrafted in 2020. He was traded to Brooklyn from the New York Knicks on July 6.

During his time with the Milwaukee Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks, Diakite has appeared in 55 games with six starts. He averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.6 minutes.
