Four-star wide receiver Rahim Hutchins Jr. commits to Memphis

Hutchins is the latest high-profile class of 2025 recruit to pick the Tigers over Power Five schools and adds to an already impressive offseason for Memphis.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It's been a momentum shifting offseason for Memphis football and things took another step forward on Friday when wide receiver Rahim Hutchins Jr. committed to the program.

"I'm very excited," Hutchins told KTRK, ABC24's affiliate in Houston. "It's the end of the process, a long process but I'm ready to come home."

The four-star recruit, according to ESPN, chose Memphis over multiple other Division 1 FBS offers including Houston and Nebraska who rounded out his top three.

The Texas native out of Shadow Creek High School, near Houston, is ranked as a three star recruit by 247 Sports and sits in their top 70 for wide receivers in the country.

"We're going to ball out everything, we're going to attack, compete, finish, Creek Boys mindset," Hutchins said. "Anybody in my way you're going to have to go right through me."

The 6-foot, 160-pound receiver made the announcement on Friday in front of friends and family on he and his twin brother's 17th birthday.

Hutchins, who goes by Rah Rah, joins what's already shaping up to be a stellar 2025 recruiting class which includes four-star quarterback and the Tigers highest ever QB recruit, Antwann Hill Jr. as well as three-start wide receivers Andrew Leslie and Xavier Johnson

Memphis football begins the 2024 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. against North Alabama at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
