MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Former Memphis Tiger Kendric Davis is heading to the land down under to play with the Adelaide 36ers in the National Basketball League (NBL).

The 36ers have been recruiting Davis for over a month and watched him play for the Portland Trail Blazers at the NBA Summer League, before signing him to a one-year deal.

“He is a legit NBA guy," 36ers general manager of basketball operations Matt Weston said. "We have lent on our NBA network very heavily for this. He is really well respected and has a high ceiling, and they have said the best way for him to get to the NBA is going through the NBL.”

Davis is coming off making the 2024 NBA G-League All-Rookie team after playing for the Golden State Warriors' G League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

The guard went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, but averaged 18 points, 7.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds for the Warriors in his first season in the G League.

Prior to the Warriors, Davis spent the 2022-23 season with Memphis where he averaged 21.9 points, 5.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds en route to the Tigers winning the AAC Tournament and playing in the NCAA Tournament.

Before Memphis, Davis also spent time at  Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Texas Christian University (TCU).

Davis is expected to arrive in Adelaide by the end of next month and start the next chapter of his pro career, which will hopefully see him land an NBA roster spot.

The NBL is increasingly becoming one of the best pathways for basketball players to make the NBA. Most recently, Alex Sarr played one season in the NBL with the Perth Wildcats before being picked No. 1 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.
