MEMPHIS, Tenn — A staple of the Memphis offensive line is calling it a college career. Redshirt senior Jacob Likes will declare for the NFL Draft, he announced on his social media Thursday.

Likes, a Memphis native and graduate of Christian Brothers High School, spent all five years of his college career playing for the Tigers. He started all 12 games this season and has 37 career starts to his credit.

"It has been a blessing to be able to wear this uniform for the past five seasons. With that being said, I will forego my final year of eligibility and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft." Likes wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Likes had an additional year of eligibility because of the COVID year, but the center chose to forego the extra year. He was an All-AAC Third team selection this year and was on the Rimington Award Watchlist, given to the best center in college football each year.

It's a blow to an offensive line that's also seen starters Davion Carter and Makylan Pounders enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. Carter announced he will sign with Texas Tech.

Likes wrote "see y'all on the 29th," in his post, suggesting he will still participate in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on December 29 when Memphis plays Iowa State in Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
